An Ongoing Community based Project

The Project "Evening Theatre Seated Audience on Reduction of Stigmatization for People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) is implemented by VISION CHILD YOUTH OF AFRICA with support from NACA and World bank through the Rapid Response Fund (RRF).

The programme is running in three Local Government Areas (L.G.A.) of Lagos State Nigeria namely Ojo L.G.A (Okokomaiko), AMUWO ODOFIN LGA (AGBOJU), Ayetoro -AJEGUNLE (Ajeromi-Ifelodun L.G.A) with a total population of about 2 million people.

These places within the L.G.As are inner cities or towns with a high populace of un-informed  members who has no proper information on the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the proper support and care that PLWHA needs.

VCYA engaged the participants in discussions about HIV/AIDS, distribution of IEC materials, video- shows and the theatre via our internal drama group to sensitize the people about showing care and support for PLWHA and stopping the stigmatization of infected persons.
